It has been a busy summer at SmartMoving. Between new features, platform improvements, and updates rolling out across the board, there has been a lot to keep up with.

This month, we brought together moving company owners and operators from across the country for an hour dedicated to catching up on what's new and getting a first look at what's coming next.

Hosted by Edward Sanchez and joined by account managers Nate Crutchfield and Brian Nichols, the session covered four features built around one idea:

Your software should handle the busy work so your team can focus on what actually requires their attention.

Here is a look at everything we covered.

Smart Reputation: Get Found, Get Chosen, and Stop Chasing Reviews

Every mover knows the scenario. The job goes well. Your crew asks for the review. The customer promises to leave one. And then... nothing. Meanwhile, one unhappy customer comes through and leaves a one-star review that sits at the top of your Google profile.

Smart Reputation was built to fix that cycle.

Nate walked attendees through how Smart Reputation works inside SmartMoving to increase review volume, automate responses, keep business listings accurate across more than 100 websites, and schedule social posts to Google, Facebook, and Instagram, all from within the platform.

A few highlights from his session:

  • Weekly reputation reports now land in your inbox every Monday with a summary of your rankings, review activity, estimated ROI, and a prioritized action list for where to focus that week.
  • AI-powered review responses let you set your brand's tone once, and Smart Reputation handles replies automatically in a voice that sounds like yours, not a copy-paste template.
  • Crew-level review attribution connects reviews directly to the crew members on each job, making it easier to track performance and reward your strongest movers. Five-star reviews can now automatically trigger bonus payouts through SmartMoving payroll.

The numbers back it up.

Smart Reputation customers grew their business by more than 19% last year.

And with 73% of potential customers looking specifically for reviews within the past three months, staying current is not optional.

Smart Marketing: Keep the Relationships You Already Built

Capturing attention is only half the equation. The follow-up is where most moving companies lose the deal.

Brian showed attendees how Smart Marketing, SmartMoving's built-in email marketing tool, uses the data already in your CRM to run targeted campaigns without adding work to your team's plate.

Because Smart Marketing lives inside SmartMoving, it can do things third-party tools cannot. Prospects can click directly from an email to their customer portal and sign an estimate on the spot. Campaigns automatically drop contacts once they book, so customers never receive a follow-up nudge after they have already committed. And every campaign is tied back to the revenue it generates, so you always know your ROI.

Brian also previewed the newest addition: affiliate segmentation. Moving companies can now target specific affiliate groups, like senior living communities, real estate agents, or apartment managers, with campaigns built specifically for them. Each affiliate gets a unique portal link where they can submit leads and track their progress, and you get full visibility into what is actually converting.

The results from companies actively using Smart Marketing speak for themselves.

On average, Smart Marketing customers increased the payment volume running through SmartMoving by 54%.

Workflow Automation: The Follow-Up That Never Misses

With Smart Reputation bringing in more leads and Smart Marketing keeping them warm, the next piece is making sure every lead gets the attention it deserves without putting more on your team.

Edward walked through three workflow automation rules every moving company should have running in the background:

1. Lead routing automatically assigns new leads to the right salesperson based on the source. Affiliate leads can go straight to your most experienced closer. Round-robin distribution keeps things balanced across the team. No more open buckets and no more guessing who picks it up.

2. Automated job handoffs take over once a job is booked. When an opportunity moves to a booked status, a move coordinator can be automatically assigned, and any role-based tasks you want triggered at that stage will fire on their own.

3. Automated estimate follow-ups are the newest addition, and one of the most requested features SmartMoving has received. The moment a salesperson sends an estimate, a sequence of SMS and email reminders can go out automatically. No manual sends, no missed nudges, and no awkward follow-ups to already-booked customers. Smart conditions check the opportunity status before each message goes out, so if someone books overnight, the morning follow-up simply does not fire.

Smart Dispatch: Your Dispatcher's New Best Tool

The final segment of the webinar was a first look at something most attendees had never seen before: Smart Dispatch.

For the operations team, building the daily schedule is one of the most time-consuming puzzles of the day. Who goes on which job, in which truck, with which crew? Smart Dispatch is designed to solve that puzzle in seconds.

Edward walked through the core experience. You build your crew and truck templates as you normally would. Smart Dispatch then takes the open jobs on the board and runs them against a strategy you select: Balanced, Minimize Drive Time, Right Crew for the Job, Even Out the Day, Fill the Morning, or Cover Hard Jobs First. Each strategy weighs different factors like crew rating, job value, geographic proximity, truck capacity, and workload balance.

The result is a placement summary showing which jobs were scheduled, which could not be placed and why, and which are worth a second look before publishing. Nothing goes to your crew until you review the board and hit publish. You stay in control. Smart Dispatch does the heavy lifting.

A few details worth noting:

  • Smart Dispatch is included with your SmartMoving subscription at no additional cost.
  • It launches for all accounts at the end of September 2026.
  • Currently built for single-branch operations, with multi-branch support coming in a future release.
  • A built-in feedback tool on the summary screen lets you request additional strategies directly from the product team.
