The Best of Movers Awards recognize the moving companies and team members doing the work that sets the standard: crews customers ask for by name, owners who give back, and teams that try new tools first.
For the first time, we announced the winners live, on stage at SmartMoving SUMMIT 2026 in Scottsdale on October 11.
See the winners take the stage in the full 2026 ceremony.
Best of the Best: moving company award winners
Best Branding: Pink Zebra Moving
In an industry full of white box trucks and predictable names, Pink Zebra Moving is impossible to miss.
The brand started with a bad move. Founder Ron Holt’s mother-in-law hired a mover who broke her things, held her belongings hostage, and charged three times the quote. Pink Zebra launched in 2021 to be the opposite: in their words, “the world’s first happy moving company.”
- One look, everywhere: the same pink trucks and uniforms across 27 locations, with a corporate team on the road about 40% of the year to keep it that way
- Built for newcomers: only one of their 27 franchise owners came from the moving industry, so the brand and its systems do the heavy lifting
- Experience first: as Lauren Bowen puts it, they’re “an experience company that just happens to move people”

Lauren Bowen and Hayden Patton of Pink Zebra Moving accept the Best Branding award at SUMMIT 2026.
See how Hayden Patton saves 10-15 hours a week on reporting across every franchise in the Pink Zebra Moving case study.
Best Customer Service: Wildcat Movers
Customers don’t say “the movers” were great. They use names. Wildcat Movers has a 4.9-star Google rating across more than 3,500 reviews, and reviewers regularly call out Mack and AJ, Dylan and Demonz, Austin, and Anthony.
- Follow-up that stands out: one customer said Wildcat was the only company that called them back over the weekend, and the only one that followed up at all
- Care customers notice: crews who treat belongings like their own, backed by the systems and mover training owner Zane Ponsetti built
- Service that pays: 40% of their revenue comes from repeat and referral customers
See how Zane Ponsetti turned five-star service into 20% net profit in the Wildcat Movers case study.
Most Innovative: Move 4 Less
Six years on SmartMoving, and Move 4 Less still acts like they signed up yesterday. The Las Vegas mover started with a pickup truck in 2004, now serves six markets, and is usually among the first to try a new tool, figure out where it fits, and put it to work.
- First to try it: tied for the most conversations with TOB-E, SmartMoving's AI operations assistant, of any customer
- First to scale it: the number one user of SmartMoving’s new Storage Inventory feature, across warehouses in every market they serve
- First to speak up: direct, candid feedback that helps make the platform better for every mover on it

Maggie Kolesar of Move 4 Less accepts the Most Innovative award at SUMMIT 2026.
Best Hometown Hero: Camelback Moving
On February 22, 2026, a Camelback Moving crew stopped at a Phoenix QuikTrip for coffee before work. Minutes later, they were helping bring a missing 2-year-old home.
A security guard recognized the girl from an active AMBER Alert and asked the crew for help. While he called 911, they used their trucks to box in the suspect’s car until police arrived, about 90 seconds later, as Fox 10 Phoenix reported. The girl was safe.
- Trained to notice: the crew had recently started Truckers Against Trafficking training, which teaches movers to spot signs of trafficking
- Honored by police: the Avondale Police Department recognized the crew at a ceremony four days later
- Giving back with what they have: trucks, storage, and their team, for local food banks, hospice organizations, foster youth, and families on the Navajo Nation
“We’re a moving company, we’re not professional heroes. But we’re good people, and we do the right thing.”
– Chad Olsen, President, Camelback Moving

Chad Olsen of Camelback Moving accepts the Best Hometown Hero award at SUMMIT 2026.
Best of Canada: Hendra Moving & Storage
For decades, Hendra Moving & Storage scheduled every Vancouver Island move in a black banker’s ledger book. When Shawn Magnus took over in December 2023, he moved the whole operation onto SmartMoving from day one, so his team could spend less time on paperwork and more time with customers.
- Kitchen-table estimates: Shawn still does in-home estimates whenever he can, to talk about “not just everything that we’re moving and where it’s going, but what matters to them”
- Care for the hard moves: many customers are seniors downsizing after decades in one home, often for reasons that aren’t happy ones, so crews treat moving day as more than logistics
- Crews who know the plan: instead of finding out their crew, truck, and job at 8 a.m., the team sees their day on their phones before they arrive
Their motto is “Hendra Helps,” and Shawn means it for his team as much as his customers.

Best of the West (U.S.): NorthStar Moving Company
NorthStar Moving Company has spent more than 30 years proving a luxury mover can also be one of the most generous. Founded in Los Angeles in 1994, the woman-owned company pioneered “eco-luxury” moving, pairing high-end service with environmental responsibility.
- Service that ranks first: ranked #1 among moving companies in Newsweek’s America’s Best Customer Service 2025, with an A+ BBB rating
- Giving back at scale: partnerships with more than two dozen nonprofits, from free storage for wildfire victims to nearly 100,000 meals for LA kids through their 2025 food drive
- A place people want to work: ten “Best Places to Work” awards and seven straight years on the Inc. 5000
Co-founder Laura McHolm, featured in LA Times Studios’ Inspirational Women series, built the company on care for clients, team members, and the planet.
Best of the East (U.S.): Stairhopper Movers
More than 7,500 Google reviews, and Stairhopper Movers still holds a perfect 5-star rating. Founded by Adrian Iorga in 2001, the Boston mover has built that reputation one crew at a time.
- Crews customers remember: reviewers regularly name the people who moved them, praising crews who show up on time, communicate clearly, and work hard
- Problems handled, not passed along: when something unexpected comes up, the team figures it out and keeps the move on track, without excuses
- In-house, trained teams: Stairhopper moves customers with its own highly trained crews

Adrian Iorga of Stairhopper Movers accepts the Best of US East award at SUMMIT 2026.
Team Member Awards: individual winners
Best Dispatcher: Mark Coyle of Rock's Moving Co.
When Jeremy Jefferson took over Rock's Moving Co., everything changed at once: new leadership, new expectations, and a new CRM. As Jeremy put it, “Mark didn’t flinch.”
Instead of fighting the switch to SmartMoving, Mark leaned in, learning the new system while he “kept the trucks moving and the crews coordinated without missing a beat.” In Jeremy’s words, “He asks questions, works through problems instead of around them, and comes back sharper every single day.”
Best Marketer: Ashley Gervasio of 2 College Brothers
Ashley joined 2 College Brothers in 2021 as its first-ever Chief of Raving Fans. As CEO Wade Swikle wrote in her nomination, “She quickly discovered our highest ROI marketing strategy wasn’t external at all.”
So she built the customer experience department from scratch, taught herself HR and recruiting, and even opened her own branch in Naples to learn firsthand what builds a raving-fan culture. Today she’s Chief of Staff, and in Wade’s words, “the engine behind” it all: “Raving fan team members create raving fan clients, and raving fan clients rave about you.”
Best Sales Rep: Terry Williams of MG Moving Services
Terry closed more than $3.7 million in residential sales for MG Moving Services in 2025, and he’s on pace to do it again in 2026. Andy Lopez, who nominated him, also noted that Terry mastered SmartMoving along the way.
The number behind the number: more than 90% of his business comes from partner and Realtor referrals. He isn’t working a list. He’s the person people keep sending their clients to, on purpose.
Best Driver: Rodrigo Reyes of Handle with Care Moving
Vanessa Wright at Handle With Care Moving nominated Rodrigo with the kind of praise every moving company wants for its drivers: “He is always on time, he puts customers at ease, and he is our most efficient team member.”
Customers agree. Rodrigo has been Handle With Care’s top driver in Smart Reputation for the last two months. As Vanessa put it, “Everyone loves having him on our team.”
Best Crew Member: Alex Del Pozo of Good Greek Moving & Storage
When Good Greek Moving & Storage opened its Las Vegas branch in October 2025, Alex Del Pozo was the one leading it. Since then, his team has earned nothing but five-star reviews.
April Johnson, who nominated him, credits the discipline and leadership Alex brings from his time in the U.S. Army. He leads by example, stays personally committed to every customer, and lives Good Greek’s core values: Faith, Honor, Strength, and Courage. As April put it, “Alex’s leadership has been essential to the branch’s remarkable growth and success.”
SmartMoving Power User Award winner
The night’s last award came from SmartMoving CEO Bill Bowles, for the team that gets the most out of the platform and helps make it better for everyone else. It went to Muscular Moving Men.
- Feedback that turns into features: when Nick Ward saw gaps in how SmartMoving handled long-distance trips, he recorded a walkthrough of exactly what his team needed, which directly informed work on trip visibility and truck filtering
- Helping shape what’s next: Jim Stevens joined SmartMoving’s Commercial beta, giving feedback on what it takes to support a commercial mover at their scale
- The whole platform at work: Smart Scout, Smart Marketing, and Smart Insights, with more than 7,100 active contacts in Smart Marketing since February

Josh Jurhill of Muscular Moving Men accepts the SmartMoving Power User award at SUMMIT 2026.
